AEMO conducts the settlements process to collate market allocation data. AEMO then uses this data, and other AEMO data, to determine market fees payable by participants and to facilitate billing and clearing of financial transactions between those participants. In all gas markets, settlement statements are produced by AEMO monthly, whether payable or receivable.

To ensure liquidity in the market and therefore assurance of market continuity, AEMO daily undertakes prudential management to determine participants’ financial exposure.

Settlements Direct

Settlements Direct is a web-based interface in the Electricity Market Management Systems (EMMS) Web Portal. EMMS provides participants in electricity and gas markets with access to information, including settlement statements, published by AEMO. The Settlements Direct User Interface Guide is relevant to participants who require help understanding the interface.
