In this section
SA Power Networks is seeking proposals to address the projected distribution network limitation on Kangaroo Island. The existing radial 33kV submarine cable that supplies Kangaroo Island is nearing its design life expectancy of 30 years with significant consequences if the cable fails. A catastrophic cable failure will incur substantial cost to repair and run limited generation over a long period which will in turn impact on tourism, business, community and the economic development of Kangaroo Island.
The Non-Network Options Report (NNOR) information package consists of the following documents:
- NNOR Kangaroo Island Submarine Cable;
- Kangaroo Island Load Profile Data;
- Kangaroo Island Cable NNOR Information Session 16 May 2016- Presentation Slides;
- Kangaroo Island Cable NNOR Request for Information Register;
- Kangaroo Island Feeder Network Map;
- Kangaroo Island 100% Renewable Energy Project Scope by UTS (NEW).
These documents are available on the SA Power Networks website:
The Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF) from University of Technology Sydney (UTS) has been commissioned to undertake a research study titled’ Towards 100% Renewable Energy for Kangaroo Island’. Please refer to the ‘Kangaroo Island 100% Renewable Energy Project Scope by UTS’ document for more information.
Proposal submissions will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, 15th July 2016.
Enquires should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org
