NOTICE TO INTERESTED PARTIES:

SA Power Networks is seeking proposals to address the projected distribution network limitation on Kangaroo Island. The existing radial 33kV submarine cable that supplies Kangaroo Island is nearing its design life expectancy of 30 years with significant consequences if the cable fails.  A catastrophic cable failure will incur substantial cost to repair and run limited generation over a long period which will in turn impact on tourism, business, community and the economic development of Kangaroo Island.

The Non-Network Options Report (NNOR) information package consists of the following documents:

  • NNOR Kangaroo Island Submarine Cable;
  • Kangaroo Island Load Profile Data;
  • Kangaroo Island Cable NNOR Information Session 16 May 2016- Presentation Slides (NEW)
  • Kangaroo Island Cable NNOR Request for Information Register (New) (Questions and Answers)

These documents are available on the SA Power Networks website:

http://www.sapowernetworks.com.au/centric/industry/our_network/annual_network_plans/non_network_options_reports.jsp

A report by the Kangaroo Island Energy Security Focus Group regarding community expectations is attached here. For more information, please visit the Kangaroo Island Commissioner’s webpage: http://www.kangarooislandcommissioner.sa.gov.au/

Proposal submissions will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, 15th July 2016.

Enquires should be directed to requestforproposals@sapowernetworks.com.au
