The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) today announced changes to its subsidiary, AEMO Services Limited (ASL), of which AEMO and the NSW Government are both members.

In its role as the independent NSW Consumer Trustee, ASL has successfully supported more than 2.4 gigawatts (GW) of generation, 1 GW of firming, and 1.6 GW of long-duration storage projects.

AEMO and ASL have worked collaboratively to recommend in excess of 6 GW of generation projects (inc. over 3 GWh of hybrid storage) and 6 GWh of clean dispatchable projects to the Commonwealth Government as part of the Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS), and will continue to support delivery of CIS tenders into the future.

To continue to deliver effectively, the AEMO Chair and boards of AEMO and ASL have made the decision to rename ASL to AusEnergy Services Ltd, and Nevenka Codevelle has been appointed as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer.

Ms Codevelle has led the organisation since December 2023 and prior to this was Executive General Manager Government and Stakeholder at AEMO.

AusEnergy Services Ltd will continue in its roles under the New South Wales Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and for the Commonwealth Government’s CIS.

AEMO and AusEnergy Services Ltd will continue to work collaboratively to deliver services to the NSW Government, the Commonwealth, and other jurisdictions in the long-term interests of consumers.
