AEMO today announced that the Executive General Manager, Government & Stakeholder, Rebecca Irwin has resigned.
During her time in the role, AEMO has strengthened key stakeholder relationships and continued to improve transparency and understanding of AEMO’s technical reports and AEMO’s role in the energy transition.
Rebecca’s industry and government stakeholder expertise positioned AEMO well to navigate complex operational and policy issues.
As AEMO has released new technical reports, Rebecca has worked to improve the way we communicate our expertise and contribute to a more informed understanding of energy systems and markets, including through our annual results presentation.
In making the announcement, AEMO CEO Daniel Westerman thanked Rebecca for her drive and dedication.
"AEMO has continued to strengthen its government, industry and broader stakeholder relationships in the energy transition under Rebecca’s leadership,” Mr Westerman said.
"Rebecca has been a valued member of the AEMO leadership team and has also made a great contribution to sharing AEMO’s story and technical expertise in simple terms with a broader audience. We wish Rebecca every success in her next endeavours,” he said.
On an interim basis, Matthew Myers will lead AEMO’s Government & Stakeholder Division, while a recruitment process is underway.
