AEMO is aware that two separate transmission lines supplying South Australia’s northern region are damaged and offline due to reported storm damage Thursday night (17 October) by the network owner, ElectraNet.
This follows reported storm damage to a Transgrid-owned transmission line supplying Broken Hill in New South Wales earlier on Wednesday 16 October.
AEMO has been in contact with both transmission line owners.
At this stage, there is no broader impact to power system security and reliability in the National Electricity Market. However, AEMO continues to monitor the situation closely.
