Stakeholder engagement

At AEMO, our purpose is to ensure safe, reliable and affordable energy and enable the energy transition for the benefit of all Australians.

We seek to do this through listening to our members and stakeholders to ensure their perspectives are considered in our decision-making, and we are committed to building trusted relationships with governments, industry, businesses, community and consumer representatives that help us drive positive energy outcomes together.

Our approach to stakeholder engagement

Engaging our stakeholders is one of the key priorities in AEMO’s Strategic Corporate Plan.

Our Stakeholder Engagement Framework and Principles sets out the ways in which we seek to build, maintain, and enhance trust with our stakeholders, and represents AEMO's commitment around what they can expect when engaging with us.
As well as outlining our engagement purpose, objectives and principles, the framework also demonstrates AEMO’s ‘Character, Connection, Commitment’ shared values in action.

Engaging with stakeholders

Through regular and effective engagement, we aim to incorporate stakeholder perspectives into our decisions and transparently share information about AEMO’s operations and financial decisions.

We engage with our stakeholders through a multilayered approach that involves both formal and informal channels, including forums, working groups, information sessions, consultations, Q&A sessions, and one-on-one meetings.
