We can’t say it enough… Australia’s energy system is undergoing an exciting, once-in-a-generation energy transformation, fundamentally changing the way energy is generated, moved, stored and used.

To enable this transition for the benefit of all Australians, we need to bring together the brightest minds and talents from across the industry to contribute to an energy future we can all be proud of.

Already in the last three years, AEMO has registered 83 projects in the National Electricity Market (NEM) – some of the world’s largest wind and solar farms and batteries, totalling around 9 gigawatts (GW). And there’s plenty more to come with AEMO’s latest Generation Information file totalling more than 165 GW of proposed projects in the next decade for the NEM, 95% of which are renewable generation and storage capacity.

A key enabler of this transition is AEMO’s Onboarding & Connections team, who facilitate the end-to-end connections, market registration and commissioning processes for new generation and storage in the NEM, enabled through strong and ongoing stakeholder collaboration.

“It is exciting to see Australia’s energy transformation to net zero emissions unfold, particularly as we move to a decarbonised and decentralised system,” said AEMO’s Group Manager of Onboarding & Connections, Margarida Pimentel.

“AEMO is at the forefront of this transformation, in collaboration with the industry, preparing the grid to handle 100 per cent instantaneous renewable penetration by 2025,” Ms Pimentel said.

With many opportunities to innovate and work on some world-first, ground-breaking projects, the Onboarding & Connections team have a number of vacancies available to explore.
