Where the Integrated System Plan (ISP) identifies an Actionable ISP Project, the National Electricity Rules (NER) require AEMO to conduct consultation on non-network options to meet the identified need. With the publication of the 2024 ISP, AEMO is calling for non-network options for the Mid-North South Australia Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Expansion project.
The Notice of Consultation, linked below, includes:
- The identified need that the Mid-North South Australia REZ Expansion project (including any non-network option) is addressing;
- Detail on the technical characteristics that non-network options for the Mid-North South Australia REZ Expansion project must meet; and
- A list of the types of information required from proponents of any non-network options.
Submissions in response to this Notice of Consultation should be sent by email to isp@aemo.com.au by 5.00pm (AEST) on 18 September 2024.
Submissions received after the closing date and time will not be valid, and AEMO is not obliged to consider them. Any late submissions should explain the reason for lateness and the detriment to you if AEMO does not consider your submission.
After the consultation period, ElectraNet, as the relevant Transmission Network Service Provider (TNSP), must assess whether each non-network proposal meets, or is reasonably likely to meet, the relevant identified need.
