Contingency Event Reclassification Criteria Review - Targeted Consultation Update

Following the AEMC’s National Electricity Amendment (Enhancing operational resilience in relation to indistinct events) Rule 2022, AEMO commenced a targeted consultation in May 2022 to revise the contingency event reclassification criteria under National Electricity Rules clause 4.2.3B.  

The reclassification criteria are incorporated in the Power System Security Guidelines (SO_OP_3715) and must be updated and published by 9 March 2023.  

Targeted consultation has been undertaken through the Power System Security Working Group (PSSWG) and Control Room Operations Working Group (CROWG), reporting to the NEM Operating Committee.
