Evolving Network Conditions
-
Emerging Network Limitations
This map outlines the location and nature of potential new limitations and network constraints.
Projects connecting in these areas should be aware of how their project might influence or be influenced by these limitations, including asset utilisation.
-
Key Connection Information
The following Key Connection Information (KCI) is required to be published on the Generation Information Page under NER 3.7F(3). The information is part of a series of changes to the National Electricity Rules (NER) to improve the transparency of new generation projects in the National Electricity Market (NEM).

Transmission Augmentation
To meet the forecast future needs of the system, AEMO Victorian Planning is progressing a suite of projects across the state through its Transmission Development Plan for Victoria, shown in Figure 1.
-
REZ Hosting Capacity
This map summarises the investment interest and hosting capacity in Victoria. There are a number of large-scale renewable generator and battery connection projects in the connections pipeline.
Additional indicative REZ capacities can be found in the Draft 2024 Integrated System Plan (ISP).

Historical-high impact constraints
This map summarises the Victorian transmission network constraints by type and location around the Victorian system, as well as binding hours and constraint impacts in dollars.
Any investment to remove any specific constraint would also require consideration of limitations that may bind immediately behind these limits and reduce the benefits unless those constraints are also alleviated.
