AEMO's compliance with the Market Rules is audited once a year by the Market Auditor. The audit covers:

  • the compliance of AEMO's internal procedures and business processes with the Market Rules

  • AEMO's compliance with the Market Rules and Market Procedures

  • AEMO's market software systems and processes for software management.

Software Systems Certification

Certification of Initial Market Software Systems

Before the start of the Wholesale Electricity Market in Western Australia the IMO and System Management jointly appointed PA Consulting to certify software systems used in the operation and settlement of the market.

The purpose of this certification was to ensure that the software systems were compliant with the version of the Market Rules that applied at the time.

The attached documents consist of:

  1. The final Audit and Certification report

  2. Letters to both the IMO and System Management providing certification of the software systems.

Certification of Market Software Systems for Balancing and Load Following Markets

In accordance with clause 2.36 of the Market Rules, the IMO appointed PA Consulting to certify software systems used in the operation and settlement of the Balancing and Load Following Ancillary Services Markets.

The purpose of this certification was to ensure that the IMO's software systems were compliant with the version of the Market Rules that applied at the commencement of the new markets on 1 July 2012.

The attached document consists of the letter to the IMO providing certification of the software systems.
