ACTUAL NEGATIVE SETTLEMENT RESIDUES - VIC to SA - 21 January 2025.
Electricity Market outcomes have resulted in the accumulation of negative settlement residues that have exceeded the allowable negative residue threshold for the VIC to SA directional interconnector.
The negative residue constraint set NRM_VIC1_SA1 commenced operating from 1135 hrs on 21 January 2025.
This constraint set contains an equation with the following interconnectors on the LHS:
V-S-MNSP1
V-SA
The RHS of the constraint equation may be adjusted to manage residues.

AEMO's weather service provider has issued forecast temperatures equal to or greater than the NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels for listed weather stations below.

The NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels are:
Launceston Ti Tree Bend: 33 Deg C, Dalby Airport: 37 Deg C, for all other selected weather stations: 39 Deg C.
AEMO requests Market Participants to:
1. review the weather forecast in the local area where their generating units / MNSP converter stations are located and,
2. if required, update the available capacity in their dispatch offers or availability submissions consistent with the forecast temperatures.

AEMO is currently working to resolve the issue.
Dispatch results are not impacted.

Bundey to Buronga (6F) line to be energised 0700 21st January 2025

The Bundey to Buronga 330kV (6F) line will be energised at 0700 hrs 21st January 2025. This is to facilitate further testing of PEC-1. Any future outages of 6F will be notified via NOS.
When further testing of PEC-1 opportunities arise these will be notified via market notice. At this time there are no opportunities for testing forecast.

STPASA - Cancellation of the Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 2 (LOR2) in the QLD Region on 24/01/2025
The Forecast LOR2 condition in the QLD region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 123464 is cancelled at 0900 hrs 20/01/2025.
No LOR2 condition is currently forecast in the STPASA period.

STPASA - Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 1 (LOR1) in the QLD Region on 24/01/2025
AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the QLD region for the following periods:
[1.] From 1500 hrs 24/01/2025 to 1530 hrs 24/01/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 700 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 350 MW.
[2.] From 1800 hrs 24/01/2025 to 1930 hrs 24/01/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 884 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 856 MW.
