Reclassification of a Non-Credible Contingency Event: Eraring Power Station in NSW Region 23/09/2024
Based on advice from the asset owner, AEMO has declared the simultaneous trip of Eraring Power Station Units 2 and 4 as a credible contingency event.
AEMO considers the simultaneous trip of those generators to now be more likely.
AEMO has reclassified this as a credible contingency event from 1000 hrs 23/09/2024.
To manage power system security constraint set N-ERARING_N-2 invoked from 1000 hrs 23/09/2024 until further notice.

The issue of the direction commences an AEMO intervention event. AEMO declares all trading intervals during the event to be intervention trading intervals, commencing from the interval ending 1855 hrs on 22/09/2024.
