The Forecast LOR2 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 119166 is cancelled at 0530 hrs 22/10/2024.

No LOR2 condition is currently forecast in the STPASA period.

STPASA - Update of the Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 2 (LOR2) in the NSW Region on 24/10/2024

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

The Forecast LOR2 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 119165 has been updated at 0100 hrs 22/10/2024 to the following:

[1.] From 0500 hrs 24/10/2024 to 0630 hrs 24/10/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1437 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1276 MW.

[2.] From 1700 hrs 24/10/2024 to 2300 hrs 24/10/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1367 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1251 MW.

AEMO is seeking a market response.

AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR2 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region for the following periods:

[1.] From 0500 hrs 24/10/2024 to 0600 hrs 24/10/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1344 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1297 MW.

[2.] From 1700 hrs 24/10/2024 to 2000 hrs 24/10/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1484 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1274 MW.

AEMO is seeking a market response.

AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE.

Non-credible contingency event - VIC region - 18/10/2024

At 1525 hrs the Rowville - Yallourn No. 7 220 kV Line and the Rowville - Yallourn No. 8 220 kV Line tripped and auto-reclosed.

AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.

The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.

A network augmentation has been commissioned in the NSW region at 2000 hrs 18/10/2024 as follows:

Stubo 330kV switching station has been cut into the existing Wellington - Wollar West 79 330 kV line to form the following circuits:

Wellington - Stubo SF 79 330 kV Transmission Line
Wollar West - Stubo SF 7M 330 kV Transmission Line

Refer to market notice 118930 - revised the testing times.

There is an opportunity for testing Heywood Interconnector (HIC) flow from Victoria to South Australia above 450MW on 16th October from 17:00hrs to 17th October 00:00hrs

This test includes a trip and reclose of a line in South Australia.

NEM Local Temperature Alerts for SA from 16 Oct 2024 to 20 Oct 2024

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

AEMO's weather service provider has issued forecast temperatures equal to or greater than the NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels for listed weather stations below.

SA
Port Augusta Ap (39+ Deg C): 16th Oct, 17th Oct
The NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels are:

Launceston Ti Tree Bend: 33 Deg C, Dalby Airport: 37 Deg C, for all other selected weather stations: 39 Deg C.

AEMO requests Market Participants to:

1. review the weather forecast in the local area where their generating units / MNSP converter stations are located and,

2. if required, update the available capacity in their dispatch offers or availability submissions consistent with the forecast temperatures.
