AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region for the following Period:


[1.] From 1800 hrs 10/04/2025 to 1830 hrs 10/04/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1595 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1577 MW.

AEMO, Transgrid and Electranet have reviewed the test results following the PEC Stage 1 testing on 31st January 2025. Hold points 4 and 5 can now be released.

The following limits will be released as of 1000hrs 11th April 2025:
- PEC-1 - 150 MW (both directions)
- Heywood + PEC1 - 750 MW from Vic to SA and 700 MW from SA to Vic
- The existing Heywood limits of 600 and 550 MW are not being changed.

Update - Inter-regional transfer limit variation - APD - Heywood - Mortlake 500 kV line - VIC region - 10/04/2025

Refer to Market Notice 126464.

The cause of the unplanned outage of APD - Heywood - Mortlake 500 kV line in the VIC region has been identified and resolved. The outage has been completed and the APD - Heywood - Mortlake 500 kV line returned to service at 0948 hrs 10/04/2025

Constraint set(s) revoked: V-HYMO

Update - Lightning vulnerable lines in Qld region
Refer to AEMO Electricity Market Notice 126262 and 126271
At 0152 hrs 04/04/2025 the the Ross - Townsville South No 7156 and 7249 132kV lines tripped.
The cause of the trip was identified as due to lightning.
In accordance with SO_OP_3715, AEMO now considers the the Ross - Townsville South No 7156 and 7249 132kV lines to be vulnerable with a category of probable due to lightning.

In order to maintain the power system in a secure operating state in the NSW region, AEMO has invoked automated constraint set CA_SYDS_56FB4FDD from 1405 hrs until further notice.

This constraint set contains equations with the following interconnector on the LHS;

VIC1-NSW1
