AEMO is conducting a National Electricity Rules (NER) consultation on the Forward Looking Loss Factor Calculation Methodology, commencing 30 September 2016. Forward looking loss factors represent marginal electricity losses across the five regions in the National Electricity Market. The Rules consultation will address limitations of the current Methodology in the context of the electricity industry’s rapidly changing environment.
The publication of this Final Report and Determination completes the Rules consultation process conducted by AEMO to consider proposed changes to the Methodology for Calculating Forward Looking Transmission Loss Factors.

Pre-Consultation Discussions
Prior to the commencement of this consultation, in early 2016, AEMO facilitated a number of meetings to discuss stakeholder views on the current Methodology. Three initial meetings were held in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne to discuss the current Methodology and investigate issues identified by stakeholders.
