Rule Proposal for the Declared Wholesale Gas Market (Victoria) – Application of constraints in the Declared Transmission System

Notice of proposal

AEMO has received a rule proposal from Energy Australia on the application of constraints in the Declared Transmission System (DTS). The proposal seeks to amend rule 221(4) of the National Gas Rules (NGR) to include constraints on withdrawals from the DTS when developing the pricing schedule.

Under rule 357 of the NGR, AEMO is required to consult on a rule proposal to amend Part 19 of the NGR before deciding whether to submit a request for the proposed rule to the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC).

Notice of consultation

AEMO gives notice of consultation on Energy Australia’s proposed rule change to the Declared Wholesale Gas Market (Victoria). AEMO is consulting on the proposal in accordance with the standard consultative procedure in rule 8 of the NGR, as modified by the Wholesale Market Rule Consultation Procedures (Victoria). This notice of consultation is dated 3 October 2016.

AEMO invites Declared Wholesale Gas Market Registered Participants and all other interested parties to make submissions on Energy Australia’s rule proposal to AEMO by 5pm, 24 October 2016 via email to: gwcf_correspondence@aemo.com.au
