An Actual LOR1 condition has been declared under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region from 1730 hrs.
The Actual LOR1 condition is forecast to exist until 1830 hrs
The capacity reserve requirement is 1585 MW
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1337 MW

Release of PEC-1 and combined V-SA limits - 11 April 2025

AEMO, Transgrid and Electranet have reviewed the test results following the PEC Stage 1 testing on 31st January 2025. Hold points 4 and 5 can now be released.
The following limits will be released as of 1000hrs 11th April 2025:
- PEC-1 - 150 MW (both directions)
- Heywood + PEC1 - 750 MW from Vic to SA and 700 MW from SA to Vic
- The existing Heywood limits of 600 and 550 MW are not being changed.

At 0152 hrs 04/04/2025 the the Ross - Townsville South No 7156 and 7249 132kV lines tripped.
The cause of the trip was identified as due to lightning.
In accordance with SO_OP_3715, AEMO now considers the the Ross - Townsville South No 7156 and 7249 132kV lines to be vulnerable with a category of probable due to lightning.

At 0152 hrs the Ross - Townsville South No 7156 and 7249 132kV lines tripped and auto reclosed.
The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.
AEMO is not satisfied that this non credible event is unlikely to re-occur.
AEMO has therefore reclassified this event as a credible contingency event until further notice.

At 1551 hrs the Palmerston A 220kV Bus tripped.
AEMO did not instruct load shedding.
AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.
Approximately 40MW of generation was disconnected.
The cause of this non credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.
AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.
