AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region for the following Period:


[1.] From 1730 hrs 13/05/2025 to 1800 hrs 13/05/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1385 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1070 MW.

Updated Victorian system normal voltage stability limit for the south-west Victoria

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

Refer to Market Notice 101368

AEMO has completed a review of the system normal voltage stability limit in the south-west Victoria as a result of Mortlake terminal station cut-in on the Haunted Gully to Tarrone 500 kV line.

The revised limit is increased by 100 MW on the cut-set from Haunted Gully to Moorabool and Mortlake to Moorabool 500 kV lines for flow towards Moorabool.

Mortlake PS - Tarrone No.1 500 kV transmission line
Mortlake PS - Haunted Gully No.1 500 kV transmission line

Release of QNI limit from NSW to Qld - 29th April 2025

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

Refer to market notice 124749.

AEMO, Transgrid, Powerlink have reviewed the test results following the QNI minor testing on 16th February 2025. The next hold point can now be released.

The hold point of 950 MW from NSW to Qld will be implemented as of 1000 hrs 29th April 2025.

Update - Non-credible contingency event - NSW region - 19/04/2025

Refer AEMO Electricity Market Notice 126598

At 0617 hrs the Uralla - New England Solar Farm No.1 330/33 kV Transformer and New England No.2 Solar Farm was returned to service.

The cause of this non-credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.

AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.

Non-credible contingency event - NSW region - 19/04/2025

At 1351 hrs the Uralla - New England Solar Farm No.1 330/33 kV Transformer and New England No.2 Solar Farm tripped.

AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.

The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.
