After more than 30 years in the West Australian (WA) energy industry, and six years leading AEMO's WA operations, Cameron Parrotte has announced his decision to leave AEMO.

AEMO CEO Daniel Westerman paid tribute to Cameron, saying he played a significant role in establishing the organisation’s WA operations, including the initial bringing together of system management from Western Power and the Independent Market Operator into AEMO.

“Cameron’s work on electricity market reforms paved the way for the WA energy transition, enabling the integration of record levels of renewable generation,” he said.

“Cameron will be leaving the WA organisation in excellent shape, and I know it will continue to meet the expectations our WA stakeholders.”

Cameron will leave AEMO early in the new year.  His replacement will be the subject of a future announcement.
