We have now published our comprehensive energy education calendar for 2019 on the AEMO website.
AEMO is offering new and broader options for its gas and electricity courses in 2019. This is in response to increased interest from industry, government and regulatory bodies in understanding the complexities of existing and emerging energy systems and markets in Australia.
The significant changes for this year's calendar include:
- The National Electricity Market (NEM) Overview will be conducted 24 times in 2019 – up from 16 in 2018
- After the National Electricity Market (NEM) Fundamentals course was so well received in 2018 we are pleased to announce we are launching the Gas Fundamentals course in March 2019. This free, two-hour course will be held monthly and provides a short, sharp overview of the key elements that make up the Gas Markets
- The NEM Fundamentals and the Gas Fundamentals courses will be run via webinar in 2019, to allow a broader audience to participate in these introductory courses
The NEM Overview courses are offered in all NEM capital cities and are the lowest priced courses in the industry. To complement the NEM Overview courses, AEMO offers a suite of technical, in-depth courses, allowing attendees to delve deeper into the world of energy.
The Western Australian Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM), Energy Markets (Short Term Energy Market (STEM), Balancing Market and Load Following Ancillary Services (LFAS)), Reserve Capacity Mechanism education courses continue to be offered in Perth in 2019.All courses are open to existing and intending market participants, government, energy industry members and other interested parties.
