CER Data Exchange Industry Co-Design
The CER Data Exchange is a key enabler to a customer-centric, flexible and dynamic, and data-enabled electricity system. It is a crucial next step in CER Integration for the energy transition.
In partnership with AusNet Services, the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is conducting a collaborative co-design process for the first stage of the development of a national consumer energy resources data exchange (CER Data Exchange). The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) is supporting this initiative through a grant from its Advancing Renewables Program.
Through an industry co-design process, the project partners will collaborate with industry and consumer stakeholder groups to develop a high-level design for a national CER Data Exchange and Implementation Roadmap that will provide a digital foundation for a future where integrated CER is a key part of an affordable, zero emissions and reliable electricity system.

CER Data Exchange Industry Co-Design Consultation Paper
The CER Data Exchange Industry Co-Design Project is seeking feedback on the high-level design for a national CER Data Exchange. Following two industry workshops, we've gathered stakeholder insights on the desired functionalities and governance models for the data exchange. We now seek your feedback on these topics and options shaped by stakeholder input to date to inform the preferred option for high-level design. The consultation period will remain open for 4 weeks and will close on 21 November 2024.
How to make a submission
Written submissions on this Consultation Paper should be lodged with AEMO by 21 November 2024. Submissions should be provided via email to cerdataexchange@aemo.com.au. Please reference ‘Submission – CER Data Exchange Industry Co-Design Consultation Paper’ in the email header.
