AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

Following review of the operation of the Very Fast FCAS market, from 1300 hrs AEST on Monday 4th November AEMO will increase the cap on dispatch of Very Fast Raise (R1) Contingency FCAS from 350 MW to 375 MW

No other changes to the dispatch of Very Fast FCAS or FCAS constraint equation changes will be made on this date.

The Forecast LOR1 condition in the QLD region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 119692 has been updated at 0945 hrs to the following:

[1.] From 1730 hrs 31/10/2024 to 2000 hrs 31/10/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1292 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 925 MW.

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the QLD region for the following periods:

[1.] From 1830 hrs 31/10/2024 to 1900 hrs 31/10/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1285 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1248 MW.

At 0028 hrs 31/10/2024 there was an unplanned outage of Wagga B 330 kV bus.

The following constraint set(s) invoked at 0045 hrs 31/10/2024
N-WAGGA_330_BUSB, N-JNWG_RADIAL, V-DBUSS_L and V-DBUSS_T

This constraint set(s) contains equations with the following interconnectors on the LHS.
VIC1-NSW1,N-Q-MNSP1,NSW1-QLD1

Inter-regional transfer limit variation - Moorabool - Sydenham No.1 500 kV line - VIC region - 30/10/2024

A planned outage of Moorabool - Sydenham No.1 500 kV line in the VIC region was scheduled from 0500 hrs 22/10/2024 to 1930 hrs 01/11/2024.

The outage has been completed and Moorabool - Sydenham No.1 500 kV line returned to service at 1815 hrs 30/10/2024

AEMO has detected that there is an elevated risk of insufficient demand to maintain a secure operating state in the Victorian region on 05/11/2024.

Minimum regional demand is forecast to be 1238 MW at 1300 hrs, and the advisory threshold is:
MSL1 - 1535 MW
MSL2 - 1035 MW
MSL3 - 535 MW

The regional demand is forecast to be below the MSL1 threshold for the following period:
From 1030 hrs to 1400 hrs 05/11/2024.

Update - Lightning vulnerable lines in Vic region

At 1525 hrs on 18/10/2024 the Rowville - Yallourn No. 7 220 kV Line and the Rowville - Yallourn No. 8 220 kV Line tripped and auto-reclosed.
The cause of the trip was identified as due to Lightning.

In accordance with SO_OP_3715, AEMO now considers the Rowville - Yallourn No. 7 220 kV Line and the Rowville - Yallourn No. 8 220 kV Line to be vulnerable with a category of probable due to Lightning.
