PDPASA - Update of the Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 1 (LOR1) in the NSW Region on 14/12/2023
The Forecast LOR1 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 112242 has been updated at 1830 hrs to the following:
[1.] From 1530 hrs 14/12/2023 to 1600 hrs 14/12/2023.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1370 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1054 MW.
[2.] From 1900 hrs 14/12/2023 to 2000 hrs 14/12/2023.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1370 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1160 MW.

The Forecast LOR2 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 112241 has been updated at 1830 hrs to the following:
[1.] From 1600 hrs 14/12/2023 to 1900 hrs 14/12/2023.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1000 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 357 MW.
AEMO is seeking a market response.
AEMO estimates the latest time at which it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event is 1500 hrs on 14/12/2023.

Update - Vulnerable lines in TAS region.
Vulnerable lines in TAS region.
Refer to AEMO Electricity Market Notice 112248.
At 1324 hrs 13/12/2023 the Hadspen - Palmerston No.3 & No.4 110 kV lines tripped and auto reclosed.
The cause of trip was identified as due to lightning.
In accordance with SO_OP_3715, AEMO now considers the Hadspen - Palmerston No.3 & No.4 110 kV lines to be vulnerable with a category of probable due to lightning.

The Forecast LOR1 condition in the QLD region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 112243 has been updated at 1630 hrs to the following:
From 1730 hrs 14/12/2023 to 1800 hrs 14/12/2023.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1284 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1144 MW.

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region for the following period:
From 1530 hrs to 1600 hrs 19/12/2023.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1400 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1315 MW.

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the QLD region for the following Period:
[1.] From 1700 hrs 14/12/2023 to 1830 hrs 14/12/2023.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1286 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 988 MW.

AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time at which it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.

Fast Frequency Response Market - Increase in R1 FCAS volume 18 December 2023.
Following review of the operation of the Very Fast FCAS market, from 1300 hrs AEST on Monday 18 December AEMO will:
Increase the cap on dispatch of Very Fast Raise (R1) Contingency FCAS from 175 MW to 225 MW
Retain the existing cap on dispatch of Very Fast Lower (L1) Contingency FCAS at 100 MW
No other changes to the dispatch of Very Fast FCAS or FCAS constraint equation changes will be made on this date
