Possible intervention to manage power system security in South Australia (SA) Region
The synchronous generating units currently expected to be synchronised in SA from 0700 hrs 16/12/2023 will be inadequate to maintain sufficient system strength in SA and hence a secure operating state.
AEMO may need to intervene by issuing a direction requiring one or more SA synchronous generating unit(s) to operate or remain synchronised to maintain power system security in SA.

The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 730 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 232 MW.
AEMO is seeking a market response.
AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.

The latest time to activate or dispatch these reserves has now passed. No reserve contracts were activated or pre-activated.

The Actual LOR2 condition is not forecast in Pre Dispatch
The capacity reserve required is 690 MW
The minimum reserve available is 678 MW
AEMO is seeking an immediate market response.
An insufficient market response may require AEMO to implement a AEMO intervention event.

Reliability and Emergency Reserve Trader (RERT) Intention to negotiate for additional reserve - NSW1 Region- 14/12/2023

AEMO intends to commence negotiations with RERT Panel members for the provision of additional reserve by issuing requests for tender for the following period of time;
15:30 to 19:30 hrs 14/12/2023
If reserve is required, the period of activation or dispatch will be within this period but may not be for the entire period.
AEMO will issue a further advice if reserve is contracted.
