PDPASA - Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 2 (LOR2) in the NSW Region on 13/02/2024
AEMO declares a Forecast LOR2 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region for the following Period:
[1.] From 1700 hrs 13/02/2024 to 1830 hrs 13/02/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1224 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1098 MW.
AEMO is seeking a market response.
AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time at which it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.

AEMO's weather service provider has issued forecast temperatures equal to or greater than the NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels for listed weather stations below.

The NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels are:
Launceston Ti Tree Bend: 33 Deg C, Dalby Airport: 37 Deg C, for all other selected weather stations: 39 Deg C.
AEMO requests Market Participants to:
1. review the weather forecast in the local area where their generating units / MNSP converter stations are located and,
2. if required, update the available capacity in their dispatch offers or availability submissions consistent with the forecast temperatures.

The Forecast LOR2 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 114495 has been updated at 1430 hrs 11/02/2024 to the following:
[1.] From 1600 hrs 13/02/2024 to 1630 hrs 13/02/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1211 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1122 MW.

QNI Minor testing (NSW to Qld) 7th February 2024

There is an opportunity for testing QNI Minor for flows from NSW to Qld up to 750 MW on Wednesday 7th February 2024 from 1400 to 1800hrs.
This test includes a trip and reclose of a line in northern NSW.

Fast Frequency Response Market - Increase in L1 FCAS dispatch cap from 12 February 2024.
Following review of the operation of the Very Fast FCAS market, from 1300 hrs AEST on Monday 12 Febraury AEMO will:
Increase the cap on dispatch of Very Fast Lower (L1) Contingency FCAS from 100 MW to 125 MW
Retain the cap on dispatch of Very Fast Raise (R1) Contingency FCAS at 225 MW
No other changes to the dispatch of Very Fast FCAS or FCAS constraint equation changes will be made on this date.
