CRI Working and Focus Groups - Expression of Interest EOI

10/04/2024

The Connection Reform Initiative (CRI) is jointly sponsored by the CEC and AEMO and continues to play a critical role in delivering a consistent, predictable, and efficient connection process. Collaboration remains fundamental to the CRI’s success.

The CRI is transitioning into the implementation phase for two key workstreams: the Streamlined Connection Process (SCP) and NER 5.3.9 Review – and we need your help. These two workstreams will be supported by a Working Group and a small number of Focus Groups; more about the structure of the Working Groups and these reforms can be found below.

On behalf of AEMO and the CEC, we wish to invite you and your organisation to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the Working Groups and/or Focus Groups which will support these two critical reforms.

The Working Groups are key to ensuring the detailed design of these reforms; empowered to build on the strategic direction for the focus areas, while reflecting the needs of all stakeholders from across industry – this will be achieved by involving a diversity of voices (i.e. ~12-15 members). The Working Groups will offer strategic guidance on these reforms, review the key outputs, directions and documents developed by the Focus Groups, and test, socialise and ultimately champion the reforms. This work will be best suited to people who have decision making authority in their organisation to ensure quick decision making and endorsement of proposed solutions.

The Focus Groups will be smaller (~5-6 people) and will be supported to undertake co-design of solutions – working collaboratively to draft rule changes, new Guidelines, and process documentation. This work will be best suited to people who are deeply involved day-to-day in relevant aspects of the connection process.

If you are interested in participating in either the Working Groups or Focus Groups, please submit your nomination through the link below.

Please submit your nomination by COB 19 April 2024. If you have any further questions about the Working Groups, Focus Groups or the individual reform workstreams, please contact the AEMO team at contact.connections@aemo.com.au.

The CEC and AEMO welcomes your involvement in the workstreams as these are great opportunities to contribute to accelerating the energy transformation in the NEM.
