AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE
Actual LOR2 South Australia Region - 8/11/2016
An actual LOR2 condition has been declared for the South Australia region from 0600 hrs and is forecast to continue until further notice during the following planned outages detailed below:
[1] Heywood No.2 500 kV busbar from 0600 hrs 08/11/2016 to 1600 hrs 09/11/2016.
[2] Heywood to Mortlake 500 kV transmission line from 0600 hrs to 1600 hrs daily on 08/11/2016 and 09/11/2016.
If a credible contingency event occurs in this period the South Australia region would separate from the rest of the NEM and is likely to result in interruptions to power supplies.
There are sufficient capacity reserves in the South Australia region to meet electricity demand but it may not be possible to bring the required additional capacity into service in time to avoid automatic under-frequency load shedding causing power interruptions.
