Victorian planning

AEMO has a unique role in Victoria, as we are responsible for the planning of the Victorian transmission network.

In order to effectively plan what transmission network infrastructure is needed, AEMO follows a defined planning process and methodology that draws on key reports, projections and feasibility studies, including the Victorian Annual Planning Report (VAPR) and regulatory investment tests for transmission. Close engagement with infrastructure investors and customers is also a focus of Victorian planning activity.

This section of the site provides information about our planning processes and methodology, as well as activities and actions – such as requests for information, expressions of interest and tenders, as well as regulatory investment tests for transmission – that relate to transmission network planning.

It also includes the Victorian Annual Planning Report, which reviews the ability of the Victorian transmission network to meet its reliability and security requirements.
