Update: Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 1(LOR1) in the South Australia region - STPASA - 4, 6 and 7 July 2016
RE: AEMO Electricity Market Notice(s) No. 54183.
NOTICE OF UPDATE
AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition for the South Australia region for the following period(s):
1. From 04/07/2016 1800 hrs to 1900 hrs
The minimum reserve available is 365 MW.
2. From 06/07/2016 1800 hrs to 2100 hrs
The minimum reserve available is 273 MW.
3. From 07/07/2016 1800 hrs to 2100 hrs
The minimum reserve available is 217 MW.
The contingency capacity reserve required over the above periods of forecast LOR1 conditions is 400 MW.

2. From 05/07/2016 1830 hrs to 1930 hrs
The minimum reserve available is 378 MW
3. From 06/07/2016 1800 hrs to 2100 hrs
The minimum reserve available is 284 MW
The contingency capacity reserve required over the above periods of forecast LOR1 conditions is 400 MW.

The minimum reserve available is 247 MW
2. From 04/07/2016 2330 hrs to 05/07/2016 0030 hrs
The contingency capacity reserve required is 400 MW
The minimum reserve available is 281 MW
3. From 05/07/2016 1800 hrs to 2030 hrs
The contingency capacity reserve required is 400 MW
The minimum reserve available is 285 MW

At 1106 hrs the following plant tripped.
Loy Yang No. 1 and No. 3 500 kV Bus
Hazelwood - Loy Yang No. 2 500 kV Line
Loy Yang No. 1 500/220 kV Transformer
Loy Yang A1 generating unit
AEMO did not instruct load shedding.
AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.
The cause of this non credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.
AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.

At 0950 hrs the Wagga substation 132kV B bus, the No2 and the No3 330/132kV transformers tripped.
AEMO did not observe any reduction in electrical demand
AEMO did not instruct load shedding.
AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.
The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.

At 0219 hrs the Yallourn No. 2 220 kV bus was returned to service.
The cause of this non-credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.
AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.
