The Forecast LOR2 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 112190 has been updated at 0800 hrs 12/12/2023 to the following:

From 1530 hrs to 1930 hrs 14/12/2023.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1332 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 689 MW.

AEMO is seeking a market response.

AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.

o Extension of Automated MII Procedures to include detection of FCAS MIIs using an FCAS requirement threshold.

No outages or delays expected. AEMO will advise once complete.

The synchronous generating units currently expected to be synchronised in SA from 0900 hrs 12/12/2023 will be inadequate to maintain a secure operating state in SA .

AEMO estimates that, in the absence of sufficient market response by 0800 hrs 12/12/2023, AEMO may need to intervene by issuing a direction requiring one or more SA synchronous generating unit(s) to operate or remain synchronised to maintain power system security in SA.
