Connecting & Registering Generators in the National Electricity Market: An Overview

This course aims to assist individuals and organisations directly involved in connecting and registering generators in the National Electricity Market (NEM). Over the course of two half-day sessions with an optional third half-day, AEMO subject matter and technical experts will discuss the key processes, and regulatory and technical topics relating to connecting and registering generators in the NEM.

Sessions 1 and 2 are led by AEMO's National Connections and Registrations teams and offer insightful tips and information to help participants to navigate the connections and registrations processes. Our experts will also discuss the state of the system, including key risks and considerations relevant to Proponents considering new generation projects, and ongoing post-connection compliance requirements.

Participants can also undertake an optional third session which will be led by the connections managers for a particular region. Session 3 will provide practical insights into the common challenges and risks encountered by Proponents in establishing or modifying a connection to the Victorian transmission network. It will use case studies leveraging experiences from a variety of new connection projects across different technologies, and an interactive Q+A format.

Please note, sessions 1 and 2 of Connecting and Registering Generators in the National Electricity Market: An Overview must be completed before attending session 3.
