Registration

Registration is a key step for any person, business or organisation who intends to participate in the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM).

All prospective participants must register in one or more of the WEM’s Rule Participant classes – which include Network Operators, Market Generators, Market Customers and Ancillary Service Providers – unless they are eligible for an exemption.

The owners, operators and controllers of facilities connected to the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) – including generation systems, distribution systems, transmission systems, load or Demand Side Programmes – may register a Facility once they have been registered as a Rule Participant.
