Deregister from the WEM

This page provides an overview of the requirements to de-register in a Rule Participant Class or a Facility from Facility from the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM).

Further information on how to apply for Rule Participant deregistration are outlined in the WEM Procedure for Rule Participant Processes.

Further information on how to apply to deregister a Facility will be available in the WEM Procedure for Facility Registration Processes. Please note this Procedure is currently being updated and will need to go through public consultation. It is expected to be available in early May 2024.

In the interim please contact to the Energy Market Management (EMM) team at wa.operations@aemo.com.au. The EMM team will provide assistance in completing any Facility deregistration process and can provide you guidance on where there may be differences from the previous market procedure for Rule Participant Registration and Deregistration Procedure and the Facility Registration, Deregistration and Transfer Procedure.

Rule Participant class deregistration

The following needs to be completed by a Rule Participant when they want to deregister in a Rule Participant class:

• submit a Rule Participant Deregistration Change Request via WEMS Market Participant Interface, which must contain the following a Declaration of Rule Participant De-registration.

Facility Class deregistration

The following form needs to be completed by a Rule Participant when they want to de-register their Facility in the WEM:

• submit a Facility De-Registration Change Request via WEMS Market Participant Interface; which must contain the following Declaration of Facility De-Registration form.
